Hi, my name is Jeff Stratford. For the past five years I've been involved in an experiment to figure out how to make creatures(that I am interested in)

for a children's storybook. I started in black and white and then went color and then got a computer and began collaging. Right now I make color drawings

and cut them up and put them back together on the computer. I've found that with collaging, I can make creatures in a way I could never without.

Drawing on paper I need to maintain a certain openness to accidents and experimentation, which makes it hard to end up with a definite creature that has

boundaries in space. with the extra step of collaging, I can take advantage and put to use the exploration on paper. Enjoy.

Since this statement, I have begun to use creatures I've made by computer to teach me how to draw a whole creature on paper, without computer.

Which in turn will further my computer creatures, which will in turn further my paper creatures and on and on. Very fun.
